Your help is needed to meet with your legislators and let them about the severe need for affordable housing and the importance and benefits of homeownership!

We need each Habitat affiliate to bring 2-3 people from their county including a homeowner if possible.

9:15 - 12:00 Individual appointments with representatives*

12:00 - 1:30 Lunch with General Assembly at Sheridan Hotel,

Union Street across from Legislative Plaza.

Our legislative day ends after lunch.

*Individual appointments with legislators. Please call and make appointments with all senators and representatives in your service area. Appointments are usually only 15 minutes. Give yourself time to get to the next one.

Legislators have been sent invitations to lunch, so when you call to set your appointment please personally invite your elected representatives.

Lunch is very important to attend. HFHT will pay $33 for everyone who registers. This is an important event and we want to help you with expenses. So, if you register - please attend as we will have to pay whether you show or not.

Prepare a one-page fact sheet that describes your county's need for affordable housing to give to your legislator. This will help him or her better retain what you present; include pictures of families, successes of your affiliate...let me know if I can help with this.

Those who do not stay at the hotel can park at the Hotel & Event Parking garage across from the hotel on the corner of 4^th and Dedrick. Rate will be $12-$14.

With the approval from THDA, we will be offering our statewide housing trust fund grant this spring. Your attendance at this advocacy event in Nashville will give you points towards the grant. HFHT will be sending affiliate application for this statewide opportunity
