2022 Housing Trust Fund Partnership
In fiscal year 2022, The THDA provided a one-time $1 million increase to our allocation on behalf of the State to match an anonymous donation received by Habitat, bringing the total allocation provided to $1.5 million. Habitat committed to building 50 homes across Tennessee and raising the additional $8.5 million needed to pull off this $10 million project. The 50 families served had an
average income of $34,448; 35 families had household incomes at or below 60% of their area median income and 15 families had household incomes between 61% -80% of their area median income. The average appraised value of these homes was $200,506.
Thanks to this great partnership, in 2022 alone, nearly 150 children and adults’ lives have been changed forever!
History
Since 2008, THDA has made it possible for Habitat for Humanity to build 367 homes across Tennessee. A total development value of $42 million; THDA provided $6.9 million of these funds and Habitat raised $35 million through other grant programs and donations of funds, labor and goods. As a result of this partnership, over 1,300 children and adults now live in a newly constructed, energy efficient, affordable home that they own; building strength, stability and self-reliance! Thirty-eight percent of these homes were sold to families of special needs or elderly populations.
Thank you!
